Things to do in Zaragoza Spain- At Anytime

Here is my inconclusive list of things to do in Zaragoza, Spain, during any month of the year. I will update it as we explore. I have included photos when available.

You can see more of my “Things to do in Zaragoza” lists below:

    Caixa Forum:

The Caixa Forum is a local cultural center, where the exhibits change every couple of months. It is located on a street which used to split the city of Zaragoza, Spain in half. The cost is low (6 euros per adult for general admission). Kids under 16 are free. There are also discounts for other circumstances, like teachers, large families, etc. There is a restaurant on the top floor, where you can have a snack, breakfast, or a menu del dia (lunch). It is a great place to see some exhibits which often include Spanish culture, or well known people from Spain.

    Visit a Museum for Free

Zaragoza, Spain has a regular rotation of museums which you can visit for free. Most occur on the first Sunday of each month, but some are on other random days of the month, holidays, etc. Here is a link from the townhall for all of the museums in Zaragoza, including their opening hours, cost, and other details.

    English https://www.zaragoza.es/cont/paginas/turismo/pdf/horarios%20monumentos%20zaragoza_en.pdf

    Spanish https://www.zaragoza.es/cont/paginas/turismo/pdf/horarios%20monumentos%20zaragoza.pdf

All municipal museums are free on the first Sunday of the month:

    1. Ceasaraugusta Roman Baths Museum | Museo de las Termas Publicas de Caesaraugusta

    2. Fire and Firefource Museum | Museo del Fuego y de los Bomberos

    3. Forum Museum | Museo del Foro de Caesaraugusta

    4. Aljaferia Palace | Palacio de la Aljaferia

    5. River Harbor Museum | Museo del Puerto Fluvial de Caesaraugusta

    6. Roman Theater Museum | Teatro Romano de Zaragoza

    Visit an Open Air Market

The open air markets in Zaragoza Spain are typically open on Sundays and/or Wednesdays. Some markets only run once a month. Here is the town hall website, to stay up to date. Here you can find tons of local culture, try new foods, support the local economy, enjoy being outside with the community, and very importantly- PRACTICE your spanish!! 😀

    Juslibol

Galancho de Juslibol is a large natural area, just outside of the city of Zaragoza. There are a few different ways to get there. You can take a taxi, drive, take the public bus, or use the tram, along with a combination of the previously mentioned taxi or bus. There is also the option of using the touristic train, which is really cool and is the option I suggest. You do need to buy tickets in advance, so that they can meet you at the pickup point. They will take you all the way into the park, whereas the bus does not.

Here is the city’s information on Juslibol, opening hours, which bus line to use, a link to the train website, and more.

    Can you find the goat?

Walk the Roman Route (Paseo Romano)

The Roman Route is a walking route through a portion of centro in Zaragoza, which takes you to some historical Roman sites. In the map below, I have created a google route for this walk. The stops include all five museums and sites that the city of Zaragoza has designated as part of this route. The museums are also included in the monthly free entry on the first Sunday of each month.

    Visit El Tubo

    Visit the Goya Museum

    Visit a Park

    Parque del Agua

    Parque del Tio Jorge

    Plaza de Los Sitios

    Real Zaragoza Football (Soccer) Match

    Basketball Game (Casademont Zaragoza)

American Football Game (Free, not pro)

Walk A Portion of the Camino in Zaragoza

Take a Picture Riding Caballito de la Lonja

For some added fun, post it to Instagram, and tag the account. They will share your photo on their social media and their website. This is done in memory of Ángel Cordero Gracia, a “minute photographer” from Zaragoza. More here.
