When James contacted me about creating a partnership for his Sanita’s products, I made sure to ask him:
- Can the insurance start on a day other than January 1? Answer: “Yes, with Sanitas you can start your policy at any time during the year. Your cover runs for 12 months from the policy start date, so if you begin in August 2026, your policy will remain active until August 2027 (provided it is renewed annually). There is no requirement to start on 1 January.”
- Does Sanita’s work well in Zaragoza? Answer: “Sanitas has an excellent presence there. You have access to an extensive network of doctors, specialist, clinics, and hospitals throughout the city, as well as digital services such as video consultations and the Sanitas app. It’s one of the best-covered cities in Spain.”
- Can the insurance be canceled and refunded in case of denial, if the person has not entered Spain, nor used the insurance in any capacity? Answer (& I quote): “With Sanitas, if a client purchases a policy for their Non Lucrative (or another visa requiring private health insurance) and their visa application is ultimately refused, they may be eligible for a refund, provided they have not used the policy and can provide official proof of the visa refusal. The refund request should be submitted as soon as the visa decision is received. Each case is reviewed individually by Sanitas, but in genuine visa refusal cases where the policy has not been used and the insured has not entered Spain to benefit from the cover, refunds are issued, subject to Sanitas’ terms and conditions.”
